At my MOPS meeting today, we made the best smelling bath salts--A really nice, inexpensive homemade gift!!
Here's what you'll need:
To whip a batch, mix together:
1.5 C epsom salt
2 T brown sugar
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t ginger
1/4 t cloves
Mix well in a bowl. That's it!
For a low cost option, place into a little plastic holiday bag, tie with ribbon & gift tag. If you had a little scoop (the ones in formula containers would work great), you could put that inside.Or, for a little bit more cost, you could put it in 8 oz. quilted jelly jars. In fact, the recipe above yielded the perfect amount for two jars.
Tie a little ribbon around the lid, put on a cute little label, and give away to enjoy (and maybe keep a jar for yourself too!)I found the basis for the label here and then added text. Click on the picture to download for a free download of these labels.
Note: Since I just made these this morning, I have yet to actually try them in the bath. In the jar, they smell festive and heavenly, so I can only imagine the same is true in warm water.
Caution: Some people have skin sensitivities to cinnamon, ginger, and/or cloves. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs.
