National Scrapbook Day

Those that know me in real-life are probably aware that I love scrapbooking--really, any type of photo crafting. I made photo collages for friends as gifts all the time in high school. And, then was finally introduced to the world of scrapbooking during college. Be still my heart! I instantly fell in love and completed books on many things, like studying abroad at Oxford...
...and, our wedding, of course!
With the wonderful development of all things digital, I've even made some photobooks. Here's a glimpse at some on the shelves in our family room:
When Big Brother was born, I had grand ideas for his scrapbooks and before he was a year old, did have a book devoted to my pregnancy with him, his birth, and his first few days.

And then, life happened...taking care of him, teaching full time, moving (twice), blogging...and here we are. We just celebrated his 4th birthday! And this is where I'm at with his first year scrapbook:
He's 7 months old there! I still have 5 more months of his baby book to complete! Good grief. And what about Little Brother?! As you might have guessed, his hasn't even been started! UGH!
I'm hoping to remedy some of that this weekend! Tomorrow is National Scrapbooking day and starting this afternoon, I'll be spending the weekend scrappin' with one of my dearest friends. I'm beyond excited!
However, I'm aware that this one weekend is not going to solve my scrapbooking issue (you know, the issue that I have TONS of books I want to do, tons of supplies, and the fact that it doesn't get done). So, tell me...
Do YOU scrapbook? Do you share my issue or do you have a good solution?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or tips because this mama needs to figure something out!!

  1. I have this same exact problem! I have a beautiful space all organized with fabulous supplies calling my name and I never get to it. We moved here in November and I was so excited because we had a room just for my stuff - it turns out a couple of my neighbors scrapbook so I'm going to start a monthly crop between the three of us I think. I did it in Hawaii and I managed to keep it up for over a year! Then I got pregnant with the twins....LOL.

  2. Love, love, LOVE the evolution of a pregnant belly! Great concept for a layout! I hope you were able to catch up a bit this weekend. I won't even tell you how behind I am in my scrapping, but I will tell you that you are way ahead of me! lol! :)
