One of the states noticeably absent from the staycation round up list is Alaska. I've had the pleasure of traveling to Alaska twice, both trips to visit good friends living there at the time. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! Here's "Mr. Mom Endeavors" and I there in the summer of 2006, all geared up to do some salmon fly-fishing. What an experience! A brown bear cub and its mom even showed up at the water's edge--amazing (and a bit scary)!

I loved Alaska! My cousin lives there and we went about 4 years ago. AMAZING! pictures do not do it justice.... looks like your on the Kenai?
