My Mom went through a similar scenario when my brother was born - but due to the military hospital giving her a shot to dry her milk up without her knowldege. She tried to nurse for days before determining that her milk wasn't coming in.

Also have to agree with the statement that you'd know when your milk came in - I thought they would just get hard and full feeling but they looked like giant torpedoes sticking straight out - hilarious looking, but so painful and nothing you'd miss happening.

It's very interesting to read your story; I think it's a good lesson to those that were able to breastfeed (still had some supply issues and had to supplement a little), and don't realize that the "decision" not to breastfeed isn't always available - sometimes the matter is out of your hands.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11632169875293078310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4438411644179987954.post-28810213107134801442011-03-12T19:38:32.896-08:002011-03-12T19:38:32.896-08:00I have friends who went through this exact same sc...I have friends who went through this exact same scenario. I understand being devastated by it. I watched them go through it. Which is why I HATE when so-called breastfeeding advocates say bad things about women who don't. For some reason, they forget that there are lots of women who simply can't. I haven't read part three yet, so I don't know how your story turns out. But I know you are not alone. I also am 100% certain you are a great mom.Elizabeth Flora Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11729450308659877966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4438411644179987954.post-64931643693409368712011-03-12T08:14:48.052-08:002011-03-12T08:14:48.052-08:00I'm so sorry. I was so frustrated because nursing is what I wanted to do and they didn't seem to want to help.
